Athlone Golf Club is a members-owned club, offering a friendly community experience.
A welcoming and sociable atmosphere
Situated on well-draining soil, the course offers excellent playing conditions all year round. The club prides itself on equality—men and women are full members with equal voting rights and unrestricted daily access to the course. Membership options include individuals, Family, Under 40s, Junior, Get into Golf, and Country categories.
The atmosphere is welcoming and sociable, with a calendar of social events and activities throughout the year. Both Men’s and Women’s memberships feature mixed and social competitions. Men’s Competition Day takes place on Sundays, while Women’s is held on Tuesdays, with an alternative weekend option for those unavailable midweek.
The club hosts regular match play, including Mixed Matchplay, along with weekly competitions in a variety of formats. Annual Mixed Golf and social events are also highlights of the calendar. Our regular Presentation Nights celebrate winners and acknowledge the generous support of our sponsors.
In addition to golf, the clubhouse offers a relaxed dining and bar experience six days a week, enhancing the social aspect of membership.

Charities
Athlone Golf Club is proud to support a range of charitable organisations through annual golf events and fundraising initiatives.
Each year, the club hosts the “Play in Pink” competition, the 3Ts Golf Tournament, the NCBI Granard Cup, and events in aid of the Men’s and Women’s Captains’ chosen charities. Recent beneficiaries include Esker House, Meals on Wheels, and Samaritans Ireland.
Through these efforts, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the important work of these organisations and to foster a strong sense of community both within and beyond the club.
